Boomer (at right and lower left) and BG (lower right) are boys, and BC (lower left, with Boomer at far left) is a girl. These black kittens are about 13 weeks old, and look almost exactly alike. They also like to explore and play with all sorts of cat toys! They are a lot of fun to watch, and they love to be held and have their bellies rubbed. They start purring like wild when you start petting them. They love to cuddle up too!

All three kittens have been spayed or neutered, and vaccinated for rabies and distemper. They are all negative for Fiv/Felv.

You can meet and play with Boomer, BC and BG at Animal Health Care of Marlboro (AHC), located at 299 Route 9 South (at Union Hill Road), Englishtown, NJ 07726 (Telephone: 732-972-3201).

Read about Scarlet Paws' rescue efforts in The Love Street Journal

Tuxie

(10/26/2014) Scarlet Paws thanks the Love Street Journal for featuring us in its Fall 2014 "Community" section. This story shows the dedication and tough decisions Scarlet Paws faces as it works to rescue animals in the community. We're glad that we were able to find homes for many of these cats!

Tuxie (pictured), mentioned in the story, is still available for adoption. Tuxie is a large Black & White Tuxedo female rescued from College Avenue Campus in Fall 2013. Approximately 2 years old now, Tuxie has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and is negative for FIV/Feleuk.

Tuxie loves to be petted on her head and chin, and flops down on her side to stretch happily. She would make an ideal companion for adult(s) who live in a small apartment so she can race around when she gets the "crazies" and satisfy her great curiosity, but return easily to her safe home base spot. Tuxie loves wet food, uses her litterbox, and loves to rub her face and body while standing on her tippy-toes.

Prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF). Our adoption fee for one cat is $100. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Tuxie, please contact us!

Grisha has been adopted!

Grisha

(10/19/2014) Grisha (left, click for a larger picture), a grey male kitten rescued from Rutgers' Douglass Campus, has been adopted! He found his forever home at an adoption event held by Animal Rescue Force.

Congratulations to Grisha and his new family!

VIDEO: Watch our adoptable kittens in action!

(10/5/2014) Watch Grisha (grey kitten) wrestle with his siblings Misha, Binky, and Dinky (black kittens), while sisters Piper and Prue (tiger tabbies) calmly look on.

If you are interested in adopting any of these sweet kittens, please contact us! Please note that prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF), and sign an adoption contract if the application is approved. Our adoption fee for one cat is $100, or $150 for two cats together. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.

Piper and Prue

Piper and Prue are looking for a home together!

(10/4/2014) Please consider adopting Prue (right, at top) and Piper (right, at bottom; click for a larger image), two beautiful "tiger" tabby kittens rescued from Busch Campus in June! These pretty girls are about 6 months old.

Prue, the striped one, is playful, active and vocal. She likes to be petted, though sometimes squirms when being held.

Piper, the darker one, is calmer and quieter than Prue, and likes to be both petted and held. She is becoming friendlier and sweeter by the day!

Piper and Prue have been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and tested negative for Fiv/Felv.

You can meet and play with Piper and Prue at Animal Health Care of Marlboro (AHC), located at 299 Route 9 South (at Union Hill Road), Englishtown, NJ 07726 (Telephone: 732-972-3201).

Because these girls are so close, we are hoping they can be adopted together.

Prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF). Our adoption fee for two cats together is $150. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.

Tiny is ready to be adopted!

Tiny

(8/2/2014) Tiny (right; click for a larger picture) is an adorable little Rutgers fan enjoying the Daily Targum! Now approximately 7 weeks old, Tiny was rescued in June from the College Avenue Campus area. His mother was unfortunately hit by a car, and he was found sitting next to her meowing. Safe and sound now, Tiny will be vetted shortly, and will be needing a permanent home. His current caregiver describes him as "a bundle of energy [who] flies around the apartment, leaps up on everything now that his legs are long enough, loves to play with the other cats and they love him."

Tiny has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and is negative for Fiv/Feleuk.

Please note that prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF). Our adoption fee for one cat is $100. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.

If you are interested in adopting Tiny, please contact us!

Volunteer with Scarlet Paws and earn time in the Middlesex Time Bank

(8/2/2014) The Time Bank is an online community created by individuals in the Middlesex County that promotes the equality of hours of different individuals. The idea is simple: Time Bank members share donated time services using time credits instead of money. For every hour that you invest doing work for someone (ex., Scarlet Paws Animal Welfare Network) you get an hour in your "time account." You can then request an hour on any service available that is more convenient to your needs. Our members use a proprietary computer program to post their needs and the skills they are willing to provide, and to keep track of their time credits. Members can easily find each other when they are in need of a particular service or skill. Members can also be "matched" through our membership coordinator. We strongly encourage you to sign up as an individual and use any volunteer hours in support of Scarlet Paws Animal Welfare Network.

To become a member visit the website: middlesexnjstrong.timebanks.org. Please direct any questions about the Time Bank to scarletpaws@outlook.com.

Zack loves Tuxie! They are looking for a foster or permanent home.

Zack and Tuxie

(7/26/2014) Zack and Tuxie (above, click for a larger image) are two cats rescued from College Avenue Campus, who are seeking adoption or foster care.

Tuxie is a large Black & White Tuxedo female rescued from College Avenue Campus in Fall 2013. Approximately 2 years old now, Tuxie has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and is negative for FIV/Feleuk.

Tuxie has been overcoming her shyness of people and now is very vocal for attention with her foster adult. She loves to be petted on her head and chin, flops down on her side to stretch happily, and is ready for the next step of being fostered or adopted by an adult who is an experienced cat socializer. She would make ideal companion for adult(s) who live in a small apartment so she can race around when she gets the "crazies" and satisfy her great curiosity, but return easily to her safe home base spot.

Tuxie loves wet food, uses her litterbox, and loves to rub her face and body while standing on her tippy-toes. Tuxie would be ideal with an experienced cat-socializer as her next foster person or permanent care-giver.

Zack was rescued from College Ave Campus in New Brunswick in early June 2014. Zack has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and has tested negative for FIV/Feleuk.

Zack has blossomed into a playful, gentle curious youngster who LOVES the company of other friendly cats! Zack is still often shy with new people, so he would be ideal for a patient, understanding, and experienced cat owner who would be able to spend time learning to bond with him.

Zack enjoys scrambling after balls of paper thrown by his foster family. He loves to be pet and scratched on his head and chin, and flops down on his side like a rag doll when you oblige! With the right person and other cats to keep him company, he is ready to discover all the adventures that living safely indoors offers. He will come up to you when you offer his favorite foods - dry kitten chow and any canned food.

Zack loves Tuxie! If possible, it would be wonderful to adopt this pair together (though it is not required).

Prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF). Our adoption fee for one cat is $100, or $150 for two cats together. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.

Please note that potential fosterers will be asked to complete a foster agreement (DOC | PDF).

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Zack and/or Tuxie, please contact us!

Sue and Who

(3/31/2014) Sue and Who, now Maizie and Mariah, two adorable tabby kittens rescued from Douglass Campus in early October, have found a new home! Sadly, their adoptive mother recently passed away. However, a close friend of their late mom has decided to adopt both Maizie and Mariah.

While we are sad that Maizie and Mariah's original adoptive mom has passed away, we are happy that they have found a new home together.

Randy and Rocky (now "Dorian Gray" and "Ninja Bud") have been adopted!

Randy

(3/23/2014) Rocky (far left) and Randy (near left) have found their forever home! These two playful kitties, who were rescued from Douglass Campus last December, quickly bonded with their second foster family. Their new mom says, "They are also just too funny and cute to part with."

After much consideration and discussion, their new family decided to adopt them; Randy has been renamed "Dorian Gray" and Rocky is now called "Ninja Bud."

Their adoptive mom reports that they are very close and dependent on each other, so we are very happy that they have been adopted together! Congratulations to these sweet cats, and to their new family!

Serenity and Pocket (now Remy and Shadow) have been adopted!

Remy and Shadow

(2/13/2014) We are very happy to announce that Serenity, a beautiful grey mom cat, and her adorable kitten Pocket, were adopted together by their foster family! Serenity has been renamed Remy and Pocket is now called Shadow.

Remy, a serene, gentle domesticated female about 2 years old, was regrettably abandoned by someone who could not care for her. She has been an excellent mother to her sole remaining kitten, Shadow, who is approximately 15 weeks old. (Sadly, the mom's other kittens drowned in a torrential downpour). Shadow, a busy bundle of energy, loves to play and explore, and is very affectionate. We suspect she helped her cause by sitting on her adoptive person's shoulder, cuddling, and taking a nap there!

Since these two have been through so much together, we are thrilled that they have been adopted together. Please join us in congratulating Remy, Shadow, and their new family!

Aristotle and Ceasar have been adopted!

(1/23/2014) Aristotle and Ceasar, two adorable orange and white male kittens, have found a home together! These playful, friendly, energetic boys were rescued by the same person who saved Sweetie. Aristotle and Ceasar are thrilled that they have been adopted together, as they spend hours playing with each other. Congratulations to these two guys and their new family!

Ricky has been adopted!

Ricky

(1/18/2014) Ricky, a tabby kitten approximately 14 weeks old who was rescued from Douglass Campus in December, has already been adopted! This playful little guy quickly found a home after we announced he was ready for adoption.

Ricky's litter mates are still being socialized, and will be ready for adoption soon!

Little Girl

Little Girl is still looking for a permanent home!

(11/30/2013; updated 1/1/2014) Little Girl (right) is an adorable brown striped tabby female, approximately 9 months old. She has a gentle nature and loves wet food and treats. Little Girl enjoys playing with dangling toys. She is very sweet, and will let people pet her head to toe once she gets to knows them. Little Girl will purr if you pet her while she is eating! She uses her litter box. Little Girl needs special TLC to continue acclimating to indoor life. She has been spayed, and has received her rabies and distemper vaccinations.

Prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF), and sign an adoption contract if the application is approved. Our adoption fee for one cat is $100, or $150 for two cats together. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.

Goldie is still looking for a home!

Goldie

(10/13/2013; Updated 1/1/2014) Goldie (left; click picture for a larger image) is a sweet, friendly, gentle and loving one-eyed senior cat (13 years old). She is currently in foster care. Her previous owner was an elderly gentleman who was no longer able to care for her.

Goldie is an extraordinarily people-oriented cat who would be best suited for someone who spends a lot of time at home. She readily greets new people (both adults and responsible children) and loves to sit on someone's lap or rub around their legs. Goldie is also very vocal!

Please note that Goldie would prefer to be the single cat in a home, as she is aggressive towards other cats.

Goldie has been spayed and front de-clawed, has tested negative for FIV/Feline Leukemia, and is up to date on her Rabies and Distemper vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting Goldie, please visit her Petfinder page at: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/26493231?rvp=1 or contact us!

Please note that prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF), and sign an adoption contract if the application is approved. Our adoption fee for one cat is $100. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.
