Livvie, Evvie and other Scarlet Paws cats are looking for homes!
(10/23/2016) For those of you who are partial to all white kittens, we currently have two all white 5 week old kittens. Livvie (above left) is a female and her twin sibling brother (Rocky – no photo yet) will be ready for adoption very soon. Livvie, Rocky and their 3 other siblings (brown tigers) were recently rescued outside the Livingston Campus Apartments.
Also, Evvie (above right) was rescued near the Douglass Campus as a bottle baby in September. Evvie’s foster mom says she has a very sassy personality!
Additionally, Dolly and Marty (now 5 months old), rescued near the Livingston Campus, are still in need of their furrever home too.
Lastly, our funds are at an all-time low as a result of the many cats and kittens rescued this past spring and summer, and a very costly surgery. Please consider making a donation if you are able to do so. Food and supplies are always welcome. Fosters and adopting homes are always needed. If you can foster, please contact us!
Dolly and Marty in Need of Homes
(8/5/2016; updated 10/23/2016) Dolly (above left and below left; click for larger pictures) and Marty (above right and below right; click for larger pictures) are siblings, approximately 5 months old.
Dolly is a young tabby female kitten with a precious pink nose. She loves to run after toys, chase her brother Marty, and relax on a comfy couch. True to tabby form, Dolly has a sassy side and is not above occasionally ambushing her kitty friends, but it's all in good fun! She also has a sensitive side, and it can take her a little while to warm up to a new environment. Because of this, it's important for Dolly to be adopted with her brother Marty, or to go to a home that has a cat in it already.
Marty is a sweet, all black male kitten who loves to be loved. He is a little shy, but the instant you hold him he starts purring, and if you give him scratches under his chin he will love you forever! Marty also enjoys playing with the kitty wand, chasing toys, and lounging in boxes.
The kittens are both spayed and neutered; have tested Negative for FELV/FIV and for fecal parasites; and have received distemper vaccinations.
Please consider adding one or both to your home, or share their information with a co-worker, friend or family member.
Please contact Mary Ann at 609-575-5428 anytime if you would like to know more about the kittens or meet them in person.
For those of you who are unable to adopt but would like to help the Scarlet Paws rescues, please consider donating whatever you can to their veterinary costs and fostering expenses. We accept donations of food and litter for the foster homes. Lastly, we desperately need foster homes to house and socialize the kittens still need of rescue. If you can foster, please contact us!
Please adopt Rosie!
(9/4/2016) Rosie (above; click for a larger picture) is a wonderful five year old indoor cat who was adopted from an animal shelter about four years ago. Prior to her current owner taking her in, Rosie was neglected and possibly abused. Additionally, Rosie developed an eye infection which has resulted in blindness in one eye. While still shy and timid at times, she has made tremendous progress in becoming sociable. Rosie has never shown the slightest hint of anger or aggression towards anyone. She is a wonderful pet and gets along great with other cats. Due to circumstances beyond her owner's control, she can no longer keep Rosie. Although it breaks her heart to have to part with her, her owner wants to ensure that Rosie has a great new home and is loved and cared for.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Rosie, please call 609-575-5428 or email us.

READY FOR SPRING? SO ARE CASSIE AND ELLIE! Seeking a foster or permanent home!
(3/21/2016) Cassie and Ellie are two sisters, approximately 9 months old, who were rescued from an industrial site near campus. Cassie (top of photo at above left, and middle photo above) is very energetic and bold. She loves to chase toys, climb tower, play with a wand, and gallop across the room full speed ahead. She has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested negative for FiV/Feline Leukemia, and dewormed.
Ellie (bottom of photo at above left, and right photo above) has a very shy and gentle nature, and is much more cautious and reserved than her outgoing sister. We would like to place Ellie with Cassie, so she continues to develop her comfort level, and learns to trust people by observing interactions with her sister. She will play with a feather wand when invited, and lets her back and head be scratched when she comes to her food bowl to eat. Ellie needs a lot of TLC from a patient person who will take things very slowly with her; she must learn to trust you. She needs a small safe room to feel comfortable. She has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested negative for FiV/Feline Leukemia, and dewormed.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Cassie and Ellie, please contact scarletpaws@outlook.com or 732-579-2979.

Update on Mickey and Mouse
(1/19/2016) For those of you who follow Scarlet Paws’ Pets for Adoption, we wanted to let you know that our adoptable cat Mouse (above right) became very ill suddenly with lymphoma and sadly passed away last week. Mouse and Mickey’s foster parents, who loved them both very much, made a promise to Mouse that they would take care of his brother, Mickey (above left), and so they have officially adopted Mickey.
The emergency vet bill for Mouse was just over $900.00. This has taken a large toll on Scarlet Paws' rescue funds. If you are able to help Scarlet Paws by contributing towards the costs, please visit our Contribute page.
Thank you for your support.
Tuxie is still looking for a foster or permanent home!
(7/26/2014; updated 6/21/2015) Tuxie is a large Black & White Tuxedo female rescued from College Avenue Campus in Fall 2013, who is seeking adoption or foster care. Approximately 2 years old now, Tuxie has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and is negative for FIV/Feleuk.
Tuxie has been overcoming her shyness of people and now is very vocal for attention with her foster adult. She loves to be petted on her head and chin, flops down on her side to stretch happily, and is ready for the next step of being fostered or adopted by an adult who is an experienced cat socializer. She would make ideal companion for adult(s) who live in a small apartment so she can race around when she gets the "crazies" and satisfy her great curiosity, but return easily to her safe home base spot.
Tuxie loves wet food, uses her litterbox, and loves to rub her face and body while standing on her tippy-toes. Tuxie would be ideal with an experienced cat-socializer as her next foster person or permanent care-giver.
Prospective adopters will be asked to complete an application form (DOC | PDF), and sign an adoption contract if the application is approved. Our adoption fee for one cat is $100, or $150 for two cats together. The adoption fee helps cover our veterinary costs.
Please note that potential fosterers will be asked to complete a foster agreement (DOC | PDF).
If you are interested in fostering or adopting or Tuxie, please contact us!
